In our primary school we employ Russian national curriculum with a deeper focus on Math.

Using various methods and an artistic approach, teachers at our school have created an atmosphere for the development children's natural curiosity, their self-confidence, and the ability to analyze new information. Through this the children can achieve a high level of academic success while at the same time being able to enjoy their studies.

Primary education is the first stage in obtaining general education for children. At this stage of education, children acquire their first knowledge of the world around them, the skill to communicate and solve applied problems. Personality is formed and it begins to develop. It is primary education that forms the general educational skills, and the level of development of which largely determines the success of all subsequent training.

The structure and content of the basic educational programme of primary general education LEADER School fully complies with the federal state educational standard and is aimed at implementing a person-oriented approach to teaching and is designed to fulfill the following main goals:

  • development of the student's personality, his creative abilities, interest in learning, the formation of desire and ability to learn

  • education of moral and aesthetic feelings, and a positive attitude to oneself and the surrounding world

  • development of a system of knowledge, skills and experience in the implementation of a variety of activities

  • protection and strengthening of the physical and mental health of children

  • preservation and support of the individuality of the child

 

Teaching at the stage of primary general education is conducted using the programmes of teaching from the elementary school of the "Express Piter School" Russia with an in-depth component of the mathematics course. The programme allows pupils to carefully develop the skills using learning activities that are necessary for successful schooling in high school.

During the literacy period, work is carried out to develop the phonetic hearing of children, to teach reading and writing, to expand and refine the children's ideas about the surrounding reality, enriching their vocabulary and developing speech.

To develop the cognitive abilities of each child in the course of "Mathematics" a variety of geometric material is introduced, and entertaining tasks that develop the logical thinking and imagination of children are given. Great importance is given to comparing, comparing, contrasting related concepts and tasks, and clarifying the similarities and differences in the facts in question.

As a result of assimilation of the subject content of primary general education, pupils acquire new educational skills, and master new ways of working.

The objectives of the LEADER School educational programme at this stage are:

 

  • to achieve the best possible results for graduates of the 9th grade: knowledge, skills, competences and competencies determined by personal, family, public, state needs, opportunities and individual characteristics

  • the formation and development of the learner's personality in its uniqueness

  • the formation of an educational basis based not only on knowledge, but also on the appropriate cultural level of personality development, creating conditions for self-realization

  • ensuring an effective combination of lessons and extra-curricular forms of organization of teaching sessions, and interaction of all participants in educational relations

  • Identification and development of students' abilities, their interests through the system of clubs, studios, extra-curricular activities, and socially useful activity

  • organization of intellectual and creative competitions, scientific and technical creativity, design and training and research activities

  • participation of students, their parents and teachers in the design and development of the intra-school social environment, and the school system

  • Inclusion of students into the development of the extra-curricular social environment to gain experience in real management and action

  • social and educational research design, including professional orientation of students with the support of teachers, psychologists, and social educators

  • preservation and strengthening of physical, psychological and social health of students, ensuring their safety
